The Epoch Academy is much more than an internship program.

It is all about giving people a chance. We understand how difficult it can be to get a head start in the industry. So when we see talent, we want to help.

The Academy offers paid placements packed with enriching experiences. It exists to provide opportunities for the next generation – across design, motion, copywriting, strategy and beyond – nurturing both the future superstars of the industry and those who haven’t yet had the opportunity (or luxury) to explore their career options fully.

The Workshop

The Epoch Academy Workshop

A fast-paced day of strategic thinking, brand building and creative collaboration.

It’s a chance to get hands-on experience of ideation and concepting as well as brand identity, personality and tone of voice.

You’ll meet other creatives, have some fun and get an idea of how it feels to work in an agency like Epoch. You’ll also have the chance to pitch your ideas and compete for prizes.

The Academy Workshops began in 2021, and since then we’ve hosted 61 students, graduates and non-graduates, and awarded 26 paid internships.

What to expect on the day

Strategy

After we’ve taken you through a client brief, you’ll get to work through a brand positioning and essence. Our exercises will get you thinking big about the brand so that you can provide the ideal starting point for the creative stage.

Creative

Now’s the time to get your pens and paper out for a collaborative brainstorming session. Here you can explore how the brand essence translates into a brand identity concept board and a set of design principles.

Pitch

Once you’ve solidified your ideas, get ready to present your work to the group. You then have the option to polish your design, copy, motion or strategy at home and submit it to our team. The best submissions will win prizes.
